Montmartre and The Louvre Tour
A village is to be found on top of the hill of Montmartre crowned by the white Sacred Heart Basilica so familiar to Parisians. Towards the end of the 19th century, numerous artists (Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso, etc.) settled here with their families to enjoy the simple and peaceful country life.
The Louvre Museum is one of the richest in the world. It is impossible to visit it all in a short time, but a guided visit will show you the highlights. The excursion includes: Ride up to Montmartre by coach and funicular, guided walking tour of the village and Place du Tertre, visit on your own of the Sacred Heart basilica. At the Louvre, more than one hour guided visit, amongst the many works of art you will see the Venus of Milo, the Winged Victory and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Wednesday and Friday: it is possible to stay on at the Louvre for the late night opening. Monday: (and also December 24th and 31st) the Louvre will be visited first before going up to Montmartre.
